CPP is the investment arm of Charoen Pokphand Group in China, starting its business in agriculture, and later on expanding into different industrial sectors. In April 2008, the Company announced a restructuring - shedding its agribusiness which includes the feed, breeding and rearing, and food integration operations while retaining the feed additives and industrial businesses, thereby opening a new chapter for CPP.
CPP's business is comprised of two subsidiaries and three jointly-controlled entities. The two subsidiaries, Pucheng Chia Tai and Huazhong Chia Tai, produce feed additives, including feed-grade Chlortetracycline and the more purified Hydrochloride Chlortetracycline. The other three jointly-controlled entities - Northern Ek Chor, Zhanjiang Deni, and ECI Metro - engage in manufacturing motorcycles, producing carburetors and automobile accessories, and Caterpillar sales, rentals and repair agency services, respectively.
With its businesses long-established in the respective industries, CPP has won widespread acclaim from its customers for its quality. The Group chlortetracycline products, "Dayang" brand motorcycles, and carburetors and automobile accessories have been well received by its users in both overseas and domestic market, winning the trust and support from them. In addition, ECI Metro, the designated sole agent in the western region of China for Caterpillar, the world's largest producer of construction and mining equipment, has also delivered outstanding service in the areas of sales, leasing and repairs, collaborating closely with its strategic partner, Caterpillar, to achieve stellar performance.
All of CPP's business operations are based in China and are tied into the economic development of China. After a dedicated twenty years of business development there, CPP's businesses are well grounded in China with a solid manufacturing base. Into the foreseeable future, China will remain the base of the company's businesses and CPP will continue to explore more business opportunities and welcome all the challenges they bring.
